Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will hold a national meeting of the Shiv Sena executive on Tuesday, days after the Election Commission recognized his faction as the real Shiv Sena and ordered it to be given the "bow and arrow" symbol.

The meeting will be attended by MLAs, MPs and other Shiv Sena leaders who have been working with Shinde since he broke away from the Uddhav Thackeray-led party, said a close aide of the CM.  “This would be the first party-level meeting to be chaired by CM Shinde after the Election Commission decided that the Shiv Sena name and its poll symbol would remain with the Shinde camp,” he said. "Some decisions can be expected, such as the appointment of a new executive committee," he added.

Shinde said on Monday that after the Election Commission's decision on the real Shiv Sena, there would be no claim on the party's assets as "we are heirs to Balasaheb Thackeray's ideology and have no temptations".

“I don't want greed for Shiv Sena's property or funds. I am a person who has always given something to others," he told reporters. Those tempted by wealth and wealth made a wrong move in 2019, he said in an apparent reference to Uddhav Thackeray breaking the Shiv Sena's alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party after the assembly poll results on sharing the chief ministerial post.

“The Election Commission has taken a decision on Shiv Sena's name and bow and arrow symbol as per rules and the office in the 'vidhimandal' (legislators complex) is Shiv Sena. We have no temptation when it comes to property,” the CM said.
